Hail typically occurs during the starting summer months. Repairs are then carried out by Hail Technicians from all over Europe  depending on the severity of the damage and numbers of technicians available. Most of the work is usually completed by November before the start of the cold winter.

The hail storm that hit central Switzerland in June 2009 however caused such extensive damage that many hail technicians found themselves working well into the winter months battling through the cold temperatures typically ranging between -10 C - 0 C.

Dent Balmer was working in a tent attached to a Mercedes garage from August 2009 until February 2010 right in the middle of the Swiss Winter.
